Head Coach Ryan Johnson

A Washington State native, Johnson played baseball at Lower Columbia College before transferring to Sonoma State University, a top-rated NCAA Division II program known for it's repeated conference championships.  Prior to taking over the COUGS baseball program in 2017, Coach Johnson was a part of high school coaching in the San Diego area for six years. Relocating his family to Bend in 2015, Coach Johnson began coaching the MVHS Jr. Varsity team in 2016.  While in San Diego, Johnson helped lead Mission Hills High School to its first ever CIF Baseball Title in 2013. During the summers he led an elite summer program that assisted many players to sign scholarships with major D1 universities. Personally Coach Johnson stays active by raising his twin boys and enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.  The philosophies for all of Johnson's teams have always been:

  • Respect the game

  • Discipline

  • Attention to detail

  • Have FUN going hard

  • COMPETE!!!
